Frequently asked questions

The questions every client asks us

Answered the way we'd answer them on site — with numbers, not slogans.

What does a solar system actually cost?+

A well-installed essential-backup system (inverter plus one battery, no panels) generally lands between R55 000 and R80 000. A full home hybrid with panels typically runs R130 000 to R260 000 depending on inverter size, storage and roof complexity. We quote a fixed price after a site assessment — never a rough figure that grows on invoice day.

How do I know what size system I need?+

We audit your loads rather than guess. That means reviewing 12 months of municipal readings, checking your DB board and identifying which circuits must stay live during an outage. Geysers, pool pumps, boreholes and air-conditioning drive most sizing decisions.

Will my system run everything during load shedding?+

It can, if it's sized for it. Many clients choose to back up essentials only and leave the geyser and pool on the grid — that cuts capital cost significantly. We'll show you both options and the price difference before you commit.

Sunsynk or Deye — which should I choose?+

Both are proven hybrid platforms with strong local support. Sunsynk has the broader installed base and the Connect monitoring ecosystem; Deye often wins on price-per-kilowatt and three-phase options. We recommend based on your phase configuration, expansion plans and budget, not on margin.

How long does installation take?+

An inverter-and-battery installation is usually one day. A full system with roof-mounted panels typically takes two to three days. Commercial projects are scheduled in phases so production is never interrupted.

Do I get a Certificate of Compliance?+

Yes. Every installation is handed over with a valid electrical CoC, a commissioning report and warranty registration. Insurers routinely ask for this — installations without it can invalidate cover.

What warranties apply?+

Inverters and lithium batteries carry 10-year manufacturer warranties when registered (5 years extendable on some Deye commercial models), PV modules carry 12-year product and 25-year performance warranties, and our workmanship is warranted for 24 months.

Can I expand later?+

Yes — that's why we oversize cabling and protection from the start. Adding battery modules or extra PV strings later is a half-day job rather than a rebuild, provided the original design allowed for it. Ours always do.

Do you install outside Gauteng?+

We install across Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West as standard, and take on larger commercial and agricultural projects nationwide. Send us the site location on WhatsApp and we'll confirm.

Can I finance a system?+

Many banks now offer solar-specific finance and some municipalities offer incentives for commercial installations. We provide the technical documentation your lender needs and can point you to the finance partners our clients have had the best experience with.
